Steve Litchfield of allaboutsymbian.com recently wrote an article called the “The Fairest Fight: Samsung i8910 HD vs Google Nexus One.” His article was fair and unbiased; and also included a few pictures of the two phones. With that said, the article is based mostly on specifications. If you have been on the fence about purchasing either phone, the article probably won’t help you make that decision. However, if you’ve been looking for an article that compares the two phones on stats alone, then the article is certainly worth reading. The Samsung i8910 HD has been in the market since early of last year. In comparison, the Google Nexus One was just recently released on January 5th of this year.

Samsung recently announced that the I8910 HD (Omnia HD, GT-I8910) Gold Edition will be available beginning this month in selected markets including Singapore, Germany and the Middle East. This special edition phone will ship in two colors called “Champagne Gold” and “Luxury Brown.” Inlayed with 24 karat gold, the phone also includes a leather case and a mini-cradle and TV-out cable.

Sound intriguing? An even more impressive feature is that this phone will include the world’s first 720P HD video recording and decoding on a mobile phone. Via DLNA technology, users can share real-time live video via the video sharing site qik.com. Other features include an 8 megapixel camera, 16 GB of internal memory (with an expansion slot for a 32 GB microSD card), 3.7” Auto-Rotating AMOLED Display, and a GPS.

Although no price has been announced as of this writing, potential buyers should be ready to shell out a pretty penny.
