Samsung bada Software Developing Kit Now Available

Developers, are you ready to create new applications with the Samsung Bada?  Two days ago, Samsung announced that they have released a beta of the bada SDK.  The applications created with the bada SDK can be deployed and tested on the Samsung Wave phone.  In case you didn’t know, the Samsung Wave S8500 is the first ever bada powered phone.

So what exactly is included in the bada SDK?  It includes an integrated development environment (IDE), Simulator, UI builder, sample applications, documentation and tutorials.  Furthermore, “Samsung bada’s IDE is based on the Eclipse CDT (C/C++ Development Tools), which is a popular development environment used by many mobile developers. The Simulator provides a local test environment without the need for a physical handset.”

The bada SDK can be accessed through the Samsung bada developer website (developer.bada.com).  Resources such as bada tutorials, the bada API reference documentation, and the bada developer guide are all available on this website.  Developers also have the option of communicating with other bada application developers and bada technicians through the online forums.  As if that wasn’t enough, the best part about all of this is that it is free and open for everyone to use!

Of course, the success of the bada OS rest upon developers.  Not necessarily if developers can develop great applications for this OS, but if they are even willing to take time to work on one.  The big question is, will Samsung be able to attract developers to it’s own operating system?
