Samsung Galaxy S to hit all four U.S. carriers before the end of Summer

For years, some of the best smartphones to hit the U.S. market have been tied down to one carrier. At&t has its iPhone, Verizon has the DROID, Sprint had the Pre, and T-Mobile has the myTouch and G1. Carriers love exclusives since they use them to bring in new customers, but it’s not always a good thing for the handset itself. According to one analyst, the new Samsung Galaxy S could soon hit the U.S market with support from all four major service providers. Mark McKechnie from Broadpoint.AmTech believes that the Samsung Galaxy S could show up at At&t, T-Mobile, and Sprint stores before the end of June and could hit Verizon as well before the summer is out. As we stated above, most of the best smartphones get snatched up in exclusive deals, so does that mean the Samsung Galaxy S failed to impress any of the carriers? Maybe so, but it could also indicate that all four showed interest in Samsung’s flagship Android 2.1 phone that they have chosen to roll it out to as broad of an audience as possible. For years, Samsung’s smatphone sales have lagged behind HTC, Nokia, RIM, and Apple. Releasing the Galaxy S on all four carriers would give Samsung the opportunity to show the U.S market that they are a serious contender in the smartphone arena.
We have already seen indication that the Samsung Galaxy S could be heading to At&t and T-Mobile. Though some Android fans have voiced their dislike of Samsung’s custom UI, there’s no denying that the Galaxy S is one of the most advanced Android phones to date.
