Samsung SCH-W960 – 3D Phone for South Korea

More details have leaked out about Samsung’s 3D phone: a Korean release date for Samsung’s 3D phone is expected to be announced later this month. Specs are is still unclear it features a 3.3-inch WQVGA AMOLED touchscreen, DNSe 2.0, DivX support, 3MP camera with Xenon Flash and dual DMB (both S-DMB and T-DMB) like SCH-W890. as a 3D phone, the display will support 3D stereoscopic images.

Once we’d seen this picture however, we realised that we had a hands on with the same 3D phone in Barcelona at Samsung subsidiary AnyCall’s booth.

To be honest, we weren’t blown away by the display which struggled to impress in the bright lighting conditions at the MWC.

Samsung seem to be pushing the upcoming phone alongside Samsung’s Blue Earth and AMOLED Beam though.

Each of these Samsung Touch phones is based around one central feature – The Blue Earth is an environmentally friendly handset, The Beam is a neat little projector phone – a first in it’s class – while the SCH-W960 will be the first 3D phone.

But while the latter two of these touch phones are very dazzling, only time will tell how well they fare outside of the uber-techie Asian regions, where the uptake of novelty features is less enthusiastic.

Still, if Samsung could combine the 3D and projector technology, we’re one step closer to this:
