Vodafone Gets Exclusive Deal To Sell Samsung Genio Slide

Before being picked up by other network operators,Vodafone has been granted a one month exclusive deal to sell the Samsung Genio Slide.  The Samsung Genio Slide is not actually a new model.  Rather, it is the same as the Samsung Genio Pro aka Corby Pro.  As part of the Genio family, which also includes the Samsung Genio Touch and Samsung Genio Qwerty, users have the option of personalizing their phones by changing the back covers.  Known as “fashion jackets,” colors include orange, pink, white, black, and yellow.  It’s fairly obvious that Samsung didn’t exactly create this phone for business users.  

So what kind of features does the Samsung Genio Slide have?  Well, for starters it has both a Qwerty and a full 2.8-inch QVGA TFT resistive touchscreen.  By offering both options, users will have a greater experience in utilizing their phones.  Other features include a 3.2 megapixel camera with geo-tagging geo-tagging and smile detection functions, TouchWiz, video recorder (@30fps), front facing secondary camera with video chat function, HSDPA (up to 7.2Mbps), Wi-Fi, GPS, multimedia player, 3.5mm audio jack, “instant email,” and quick access to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. 

Clearly, the Samsung Genio Slide was created for the youth market.  In fact, Mark Mitchinson, the vice president at Samsung Mobile UK said, “The Samsung Genio Slide is the latest in our range designed specifically for the youth market. We know it (Genio Slide) will be a hit with the target audience.”  With all the features that this phone has to offer, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mr. Mitchinson’s statement becomes a reality.
