Samsung Corby Speed launches with CDMA support in India

Samsung continues to push the Corby into new markets with the release of the Corby Speed in India. The Corby Speed is pretty much the same handset at the Samsung Corby S3650 we’ve seen in Europe already, except that it’s equipped with an OMH CDMA chipset. If you’re not familiar with OMH (Open Market Handset), it’s a technology piloted by Qualcomm which allows CDMA handsets to be used on multiple CDMA networks without significant cost to them. Think of it as a CDMA handset with a virtual SIM card if you will.

The Samsung Corby Speed features a bright 2.8 inch touch-screen, 2MP camera, 80MB of internal memory, FM radio, and microSD card slot for your music and pictures. The Corby Speed is currently selling in white, black, and yellow for Rs. 10400 ($225 US or £139 UK). The Samsung Corby is not the most advanced pseudo-smartphone on the market, but it does bring touch-screen technology to the masses at an attractive price.
